"This is political correctness gone mad. Whilst a third of Welsh people can understand some of their language, only a tiny proportion of these use it on a day to day basis. Dual language signing serves only to confuse motorists and may cause accidents in situations where quick decisions are needed."
I grant that the petitioner has a point about how few people use Welsh - the numbers who genuinely have it as a first, preferred, language are very small - I think he's out of his tree if he thinks it's confusing. Given that drivers are bombarded with superfluous information in the way of adverts, for example (on hoardings and on lorries) and indeed might easily be distracted by, well, anything around them, were they so easily distracted ... If he's that easily distracted, I would prefer he didn't drive, to be honest.
