Binding Manifestos

The petition is entitled make the manifesto of political party a legally binding contract if they come to power and the explanatory notes say
"we all know how dodgy each party is, it's more a case of which one is least dodgy. Isn't it?"

This is a lovely idea. I've often thought so for students' union elections too, though in the case of the students' union manifestos, half the time the presidential candidates' manifestos promise mostly to do things the president doesn't have the power to do (the treasurer does), which would be a bit of a problem to bind people to.

It's never going to happen. But, oh, I wish it could!!
