Stop Junk Mail

The petition is entitled stop junk mail and the explanatory notes say
"junk mail is so annoying, i tihnk we should only get it if we want it. lets make a web site dedicated to junk mail, and if you want it you subscribe to it."

Apparently the petitioner has not heard of the Mailing Preference Service, which conveniently allows you to register, for free, to have your name removed from junk mail lists.

I grant that this is "default on" rather than "default off" - you have to explicitly say you don't want mail, rather than it being assumed that you don't - but even so, it certainly allows the petitioner, should he have the sense of a gnat, to not get the post he doesn't want.
