Population Level

The petition is entitled begin population control in the UK and the explanatory notes read
"The world population is too high and still growing. We need to at least consider this and if necessary address it.

Over-population causes pollution, congestion, poverty and a destruction of the "natural" world. Current levels and growth are unsustainable and taxes and rationing are merely window dressing.

We need to phase out financial incentives to have more than one child per couple and significantly reduce immigration."

Firstly, as with the Doctors' Ties I just wrote about, the title doesn't stand alone. This is not good. Paragraph one of the notes I agree with. Paragraph two is probably correct, too. But ...

Paragraph three ... The first bit I can potentially agree with. Yes - if the consideration in the first paragraph decides it's necessary to address the matter, financial incentives to stop at one child sound like a good plan. But reduce immigration? I'm sorry? It's world population we think is the problem, yes? I don't think we're getting immigrants from Mars, the moon or Alpha Centauri yet ...!
